For vehicle service and maintenance areas, the maximum flow rate will typically be the sum of all normally used flow sources. For example, if a car dealership has five service bays, and each bay has a 10 GPM hose bib used for washing down cars, the maximum flow rate that might enter the oil separator is 50 GPM.
