Background:

  • Engineered Air, a manufacturing facility in Calgary, Canada, required a neutralization system for a wash booth due to the highly acidic chemicals used in the wash process.
    – The National Plumbing Code of Canada (much like IPC / UPC) does not offer much guidance for sizing chemical waste applications.
    – Additionally, the City of Calgary does not offer advice or recommendations on specific chemicals or systems as it applies to sanitary discharge. That is where Striem stepped in to assist!
  • Striem dove into this project with the Rep and specifying engineer to make everyone’s life easier. We gathered critical project information to generate a Striem solution. After careful analysis of each chemical waste system in the facility, we recommended the LB-1000 and Command Center.
  • Vantage Marketing was critical in ensuring Striem’s proposed solution was not substituted by a competitor. They tracked the project closely and handled technical and installation questions from the many parties involved.

Key Takeaways:

  • Among the many benefits Striem offers, our support system for engineers can often get overlooked.
  • This project stemmed from an in-person meeting during a sales trip in January 2023.
  • Striem’s sizing assistance was greatly appreciated by the specifying engineer, as they were unsure how to proceed initially.
  • We provided several recommendations based on different systems the owner proposed in their new facility.
  • Ultimately, Engineered Air was able to evaluate our recommendations and proceed with the system that best matched their needs.
